KAMTERTER SEED COATING PRODUCTS

The Kam-Kōt family of seed coating products covers a full range of seed coating treatments for primed and non-primed seeds of most species.

Descriptions for Kamterter’s Kam-Kōt seed coating standard products:

KAM-KŌT PELLET – Pelleting involves the application of materials to seeds, primarily to create shapes and surfaces to facilitate mechanical planting of seeds.  Kam-Kōt pellet product formulations are specific for a species and can be made to accommodate a broad range of planter and environmental niche requirements. Chemical fungicides and insecticides can be incorporated into the pellet, when appropriate, to provide maximum efficacy from the chemical dose applied. Kam-Kōt pellet technology allows seed build up over a broad range of specifications in accordance with customer requirements for belt, plate, vacuum and singulated flow planting systems.

KAM-KŌT ENCRUSTMENT – Seed encrustments are provided to meet customer specifications. Examples of products that are commonly requested are adjustments of onion seed counts to 85,000 and carrots to 250,000 seeds per pound. Chemical fungicides and insecticides can be incorporated with encrustments as appropriate.

KAM-KŌT COATING COLORS – A broad color selection is available for all coating products. Common requests for color applications are to identify varieties, improve seed visibility at planting and to emphasize company logo/brand colors.

KAM-KŌT CHEMICAL TREATMENT – A light film and color indicator is provided with standard chemical treatment to show that a pesticide has been applied to the seed and to minimize dust off. This protocol is more economical than a full film and is recommended when a full color film is not necessary to meet customer requirements.

TIMELINE FOR COATING RAW SEED – A typical timeline for testing and coating is 1 to 3 weeks depending on the germination characteristics of each seed lot.

TIMELINE FOR COATING Kam-Prime & Kam-Refine PROCESSED SEED – Typically 3 to 7 days would be added to the timeline depending on species and seed lot characteristics.
